The recent surge in volatility has been bad news for developed markets. While the Philippine market has corrected because of the global macroeconomic headwinds enumerated below, there are also good news for the Philippines because of numerous factors.

NEW PSE TRADING HOURS

Referring the memorandum TPA-No.2011-0030. The board of directors of the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. approved the extension of trading hours from it current schedule of 9:00a.m.~12:10p.m. to 9:00a.m.~3:30p.m. The plan of implementation shall include two phases as follows:

Phase 1 – Effective October 01, 2011
9:00a.m.~1:00p.m.

Phase 2 – Effective January 01, 2012
9:00a.m.~12:00p.m.
1:30p.m.~3:30p.m.
